Historical and Cultural Studies in Music

The Historical and Cultural Studies in Music curriculum includes core courses required for all music majors: “Music in Global Perspective” (MUS 246), “Music from 600 to 1750” (MUS 351), “Music from 1750 to 1945” (MUS 353), and “Music from 1945 to the Present” (MUS 452; mid-level Writing Intensive). Select Historical and Cultural Studies in Music core courses are open to music minors and non-majors as well. Please refer to TCNJ’s Undergraduate Bulletin for additional Historical and Cultural Studies in Music courses that are part of the College’s College Core program and are open to students from all majors.
