The Bachelor of Music in Music Education prepares students to become dynamic, engaging school music educators. Our program focuses on training students in both traditional and progressive pedagogies, while equipping them with the teaching skills and strategies needed for successful careers in diverse learning environments. Music education students build professional relationships through extensive field experiences in a variety of school settings. They are also trained in job acquisition skills, including resume and cover letter writing, and gain interview experience by participating in mock interviews with local school administrators. Our students’ comprehensive content knowledge, high levels of performance, varied field experiences, and extensive training in innovative teaching practices and philosophies, contribute to a 100% job or graduate school placement rate for music education graduates.
