Karl Recktenwald has returned to his TCNJ alma mater where he supervises:

He joins the adjunct faculty of TCNJ following his retirement from Hamilton High School West where he served for 31 years as Director of Bands and Chair of the Fine Arts Department. During his tenure at Hamilton High School West, he was honored for his dedication and excellence with both the Hamilton Township and the Mercer County Teacher of the Year Awards. Mr. Recktenwald is a past Coordinator of NJ All-State Bands, a past Conductor of Central Jersey Region II Band, the Founder of the Annual Mercer County Cavalcade of Bands, and Festival Adjudicator for Performing Arts Festivals.
In addition to being an outstanding educator, Mr. Recktenwald has performed with the Trenton Symphony, the Delaware Valley Philharmonic and the Princeton Chamber Orchestra. He is also the Founder and Director of the Hamilton Brass Quintet and was a former Trumpet Soloist with both the 63rd Army Band in Sea Girt, NJ and the 343rd Army Band at Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD. Mr. Recktenwald studied with Seymour Rosenfeld (Philadelphia Orchestra), Ted Weis (American Symphony and New York City Ballet Orchestra), David Uber (New York Ballet Orchestra), and Robert Nagel (New York Brass Quintet).
