Recitals

Tuesday Afternoon Recital Series

All Freshmen, Sophomores and Juniors students participating in Studio Courses are required to perform once per academic year. Seniors are invited to participate, but not required.

  • Applications should only be signed by your instructor after you have completed it.
  • The signed, completed application must be submitted to the Main Office at the time of signing up for a date.
  • The deadline to submit an application is noon, one week before the Tuesday Recital performance date.
  • The total time of your performance may not exceed 6 minutes. Exceptions to this policy may be granted through inquiry of the faculty recital coordinator (2016-17, Fienberg)
  • Recitals take place in the Mildred and Ernest E. Mayo Concert Hall from 12:30-1:20pm.
  • Recitals are free and open to the public.

Sophomore Recitals

Typically held the 3rd to the last Wednesday of each semester.

  • Contact the Department Chair to schedule your date/time.
  • Programs are the responsibility of the student recitalists.  Submit them to the Music Office at least one week prior to your recital for photocopying.
  • Ushers (2) are the responsibility of the recitalist.
  • Recitals are free and open to the public

Senior Recitals

Students should consult the Student Handbook for full details on the senior recital.

  • The office will email each student with details on how to submit their recital program information 4-6 weeks prior to the recital date.
  • Four weeks prior to the recital date, recitalists must submit their program to the Music Office.
  • Program notes are the responsibility of the recitalist.  Students should consult with their studio instructor on content and format.
  • Arrangements for accompanists are the responsibility of the performer.
  • Students should consult with their studio instructor and the Student Handbook regarding proper attire.
  • Receptions are not permitted.  The lobby should be used for greeting guests and taking pictures after the recital.
  • Ushers (2) are the responsibility of the recitalist.
  • Recitals are free and open to the public.

2019 Recital Scheduling (Lottery) Form

The Recital Scheduling (Lottery) form is issued prior to the start of each fall semester to all prospective recitalists for the forthcoming academic year.  The form includes instructions and a list of all possible dates for senior recitals (and junior recitals, where appropriate).  Bring the completed form to the Recital Scheduling (Lottery) Meeting, typically held on the last Wednesday of September.
