This course sequence is for students matriculating in fall 2022 or before.
Note that full-time enrollment requires a minimum of three course units (twelve credits) per semester, but no more than 4.5 units (eighteen credits) without permission (consult your advisor).
Year 1 B.A. in Music majors must pass the Keyboard Proficiency exam in order to graduate. If a student has a background in piano and believes they can pass the proficiency without taking Keyboard Skills classes, they should take the Keyboard Proficiency exam at the end of the fall semester of Year 1. If a student needs to take Keyboard Skills I and II, which cannot be taken until after passing “Musicianship I,” they are strongly encouraged to do so in the spring semester of Year 1 and the fall semester of Year 2, respectively, and to take the Keyboard Proficiency exam at the end of the fall semester of Year 2 in preparation for the Sophomore Review.
