Recording and Uploading Instructions for PIANO

Please note that repertoire information specific to Piano auditions are found here.

Devices

A typical smartphone, or a computer with a built-in microphone and camera will suffice for making a video with satisfactory visual and audio elements.

Visual Elements

  • Please set the camera capturing you from the side while including your upper body with a clear view of your hands on the keys.
  • Please also include the view of the music stand with no music on.
  • Make sure to have adequate lighting while recording.

Audio Elements

  • Please review the videos before submitting to ensure that sound is audible and not distorted.

Other

  • The entirety of each recording should be one unedited take.
  • Applicants are encouraged to dress professionally for the audition videos.

Upload your recordings

Upload your videos to the cloud storage of your choice (google drive, dropbox, etc) and send share links of your recordings to musicdept@tcnj.edu. Put your name and “audition videos” in the subject line of the email.

Be sure that the share settings of your drive will enable others (with the link) to access your files
